Padma is a consistent beach break in Legian, Bali, located in front of the Padma Hotel area. Part of the long Kuta Legian sand stretch, it offers more defined peaks than the surrounding open beach and produces both lefts and rights. Popular with intermediates and a step up from pure beginner zones further south.
The Break Sections
* Main Padma peaks: The primary zone in front of the hotel. Cleaner, more organised lefts and rights that can offer longer walls and occasional punchy sections.
* Northern and southern flanks: Shifting banks that blend into the wider Legian and Kuta peaks, providing extra options when the main peak is crowded or sectiony.
* Bigger-day rights: On solid swell the rights can stand up and throw short barrels or steep walls, especially at lower tides.
Best Conditions**
* Season: Dry season (April–October) for the cleanest and most consistent SW groundswells.
* Swell: Southwest to south.
* Wind: East to northeast / southeast offshore in the mornings.
* Tide: Mid to high on smaller days; mid or low for experts when the swell is bigger.
