G-Land is a world-class left-hand reef break tucked away in the Alas Purwo National Park on the edge of East Java. It’s famous for long, mechanical barrels and a raw jungle backdrop.

 

The Break Sections

The wave runs for over a kilometre, getting faster and shallower as it moves down the reef:

• Kongs: The most consistent outer peak; big and chunky, but usually more forgiving.

• Money Trees: The sweet spot. Offers long, perfect walls and consistent tube sections.

• Speedies: The fastest and most dangerous section. It's a hollow, high-speed barrel over very shallow coral.

 

Best Conditions

• Season: May to October (Dry Season).

• Swell: Needs a South/Southwest groundswell.

• Wind: Southeast trades provide the ideal offshore grooming.

• Tide: Mid-tide is usually safest; low tide is experts-only due to the exposed reef.

 

Getting There

Most surfers take a 2-hour fast boat from Sanur or Serangan in Bali. You stay in rustic  boat and food packages.
