Kirra Point is a world-class right-hand sand-bottom point break on the southern Gold Coast, Queensland, sitting at the end of the famous Superbank. It’s renowned for long, hollow, freight-train barrels that reel down the point when the sand and swell align perfectly.

The Break Sections
The wave can deliver long, mechanical tubes with serious speed and power:
* The Point / Outside: The main take-off zone. Steep, hollow entry that often sets up for deep barrels right from the start.
* The Bowl / Inside: Faster, shallower section where the wave tightens and throws perfect almond-shaped tubes over the sandbank.
* The End Section: Sometimes links further toward Coolangatta Beach on the best days, offering extended walls and occasional bonus barrels.

Best Conditions
* Season: December to April/May (cyclone season) for the best E/SE swells.
* Swell: East to southeast, ideally medium period and clean.
* Wind: Southwest to west (offshore).
* Tide: High tide outgoing is classic for the best barrels; low tide can be too shallow and dangerous.
