Macaronis, or "Macas," is a world-renowned left-hand reef break located in the southern Mentawai Islands, Indonesia. It is famous among surfers for its "mechanical" consistency, offering a predictable, high-performance wave that works in almost all tides and wind conditions.

• Skill Level: Best suited for intermediate to advanced surfers. While the wave is perfect, the reef can be shallow, and larger swells create a heavy takeoff.

• Best Window: The peak season runs from May to October during the Indonesian dry season, which receives the most consistent southwest swells.

• Crowd Control: To prevent overcrowding, local regulations limit the number of charter boats allowed to moor at the break simultaneously.
